Hello Dotty Friends

Every now and again a story comes along that reminds us all why wildlife conservation is so important - The incredible story of Christian the Lion is one of them...

You might have heard about a short video that has attracted over 30 million hits online, it tells the true story of a very important lion cub called Christian.

Before you read on, please watch the video for yourself:

Christian the Lion was reintroduced to the wild by George Adamson (who appears in the film towards the end). George Adamson and Tony Fitzjohn (better known to Dotty fans as Fitz) worked together for years, helping to reintroduce lions into the wild.

Sadly, George Adamson was killed by poachers in Kenya in 1989. Fitz left Kenya and went on to establish Mkomazi in Tanzania, which is of course, home to Dotty Rhino and the other endangered black rhino living in the sanctuary here.

So you could say that Christian the Lion and Dotty the Rhino are somewhat related : ) Dotty is certainly part of Christian's incredible legacy, and we are thrilled that so many people around the world are learning of Christian's journey and understanding just how important projects, such as Mkomazi, are.

Please tell all of your friends and family about Christian the Lion - We hope you enjoyed the video as much as we did! And to John Rendall and Ace Bourke, thank you for making that decision all those years ago to rescue the lion cub Christian from a cage, and turning to George Adamson for help…
